Halloween Glam

As it’s halloween tomorrow I thought this would be the perfect time to show you one of my favourite halloween makeup looks if you’re in a rush and need some kind of idea of what to do. This is a super easy look that is really effective and doesn’t take too much time.

I went for a glam skull look, the way I did it meant that was it was quite unstructured meaning that I didn’t draw out the teeth in any detail, I just did lines. Obviously the colour scheme is up to you but I went for a vampy deep berry colour rather than black as it was a bit more subtle and easier to work with.

All the products are makeup rather than face paint meaning that its super easy to create at home as you will most likely have all the products at home!

Do you like this halloween makeup look? Has this given you inspiration for tomorrow night? If you’ve already planned your makeup and outfit, what are you going as?

Lots of Love

Little Weekend Getaway

Last weekend, my mum and I took a weekend out of our busy schedules to celebrate my Aunties 60th Birthday. As a surprise, lots of my Aunties family travelled to the Cotswolds to give her the best birthday ever. This included her husband, daughter, sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, parents and us.
We booked a house in the depths of the Cotswolds that was a 10 minute drive from Burford. It was so lovely! The house had 6 bedrooms, 2 lounges (one was a snug which was our 7th bedroom) and a nice kitchen. The outside was so beautiful. It had a small garden, one side had a picket fence and the other had a small wall that overlooked a flowing stream. It was so picturesque.

On our first full day there we all travelled to Burford for the afternoon. As someone who hasn’t travelled round the country much at all, it was really nice to see such a lovely new place.

We spent our time wondering down the main street which was on a hill. There were some lovely cute shops and cafes dotted all over it, including the best old fashioned sweet shop!

We also came across a shop called ‘The Cotswold Cheese Company’ which was my kind of heaven! The ladies in there were so lovely and the cheeses were incredible!

The next day was our final day there so we spent our time chilling with the family. It was really nice to have a relaxing day followed by a very tasty roast dinner courtesy of Chloe!

I would absolutely love to come back and visit the Cotswolds again as it was such a beautiful and friendly place. I also really enjoyed wandering around Burford as it had such quaint shops and lovely views!

Have you ever been to the Cotswolds? Specifically Burford? Would you ever like to go there?

Lots of Love

Favourite Brow Products

So I go through phases with what products I use for my brows, and this is generally because the shop has sold out of the product that I want to buy! But at the moment, I am happy with how my brows are looking, I thought I’d share with you what products I use to get my brows looking A OKAY!

For the main part of my brow, I love to use the Anastasia Beverly Dip brow pomade in ‘Blonde’. I outline the underneath of the brow, then create the arch and then the tail. I fill them in from outside inwards. When I get to the front section of my brow, I make sure I don’t have lots of product on the brush so that I can get the ombre effect at the start of my brow. I also tilt the brush to get more hair like strokes. This way, it looks like my brows are bushy as the start when really there’s hardly any brow hairs there at all!
The brush I use is the Real Techniques Bold Metals Angled Brush.

Once my brows are filled in I like to set them in place. For this I use the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. This keeps the hairs in place and also makes my brows look bushier than they are, which is always a bonus! As my brow hairs are a minimum, any product that makes them look better is a win win!

Other products that I like to use on my brows are NYX Tame and Frame Brow Pomade, and the NYX Brow Gel. These products are great if you dont want to spend too much and also get a great result!

What are you favourite brow products? Are they the same as mine?

Lots of Love

Naked Heat First Impressions

So I still can’t believe that I have managed to get my hands on this! I am so incredibly lucky that someone sent me the link on twitter to get this when I said I was devastated that I hadn’t managed to get one of time. And of course this is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. I was shocked that it arrived on Friday as I didn’t expect it for a little while but when I saw what the parcel was I nearly cried with happiness.

Friday was the day that I went to a Guns ’n’  Roses gigs (which was incredible) and the day that the palette arrived. Luckily I was only just starting my makeup when I received the palette which meant I could have a play around with it.

This is the look I came up with:

I used ‘Chaser’ and ‘Sauced’ mixed as my transition shade and then took ‘Cayenne’ in the outer crease. On the outer half of the lid I applied ‘He Devil’. For the inner part of the lid I took the shade ‘Scorched’. This is a gorgeous rose gold/red shade which is super glittery and pigmented.

On the lower lash line, I took a mix of ‘Cayenne’ and ‘He Devil’ then on my waterline I used the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Pencil in Bronzed Garnet. This helped smoke up the look more. Then to finish off the eyes, I used Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Mascara.

I am so happy with how the look turned out. This palette has had so much criticism and I really don’t think it deserved it. There really wasn’t much fall out at all, even with the shimmer shades. It has the most perfect mix of warm toned colours and who doesn’t love a warm toned palette!

Officially this palette doesn’t come out till 30th June but if there does happen to be another flash sale or you somehow manage to get your hands on it before then, you won’t regret it. This is going straight into my draw of go-to palettes.

Did you get this palette in the flash sale? If so, do you love it as much as me? What looks have you come up with so far?

Lots of Love

My Go To Long Lasting Products

Hectic, busy, long days are not made for makeup, but you want to wear it. However you could do without having to constantly stop throughout the day to top it up as you don’t have time for that in your busy schedule. It’s a nightmare, I know. But here I am going to share with you my go-to long lasting products for those kinds of days!

Firstly moisturiser. Although most days I moisturise my skin before applying makeup, I find it even more important on these days. I use the Simple Oil Balancing moisturiser as this keeps my oils at bay on my skin so I don’t finish the day looking like a sweaty oily mess!
Next I use The Body Shop’s ‘Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion.’ Again, this helps keep those nasty oils at bay and is a great skincare product as it includes tea tree.
The primer I use is Benefit Porefessional as this helps cover pores, keeps the skin matte and makes sure the makeup lasts as long as it can! This is my holy grail primer and I’ve used and loved it for years!
For Foundation, I like the Too Faced ‘Born this Way’ Foundation as this is a medium coverage foundation. Although the consistency of it can feel a little thick when being applied, once it’s blended out it doesn’t feel like there’s any foundation on the skin. The last thing you want is to feel caked in foundation, and this doesn’t do that!
I use the same concealer for my under eyes and any spots or blemishes and thats the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. I use this for both because I know it lasts really well throughout the day and I have never felt the need to top it up as it looks the same when you leave the house in the morning to when you return early evening.
The powder I rely on day in day out is the NYX HD Finishing Powder in translucent. I use this to bake under my eyes and set my whole face. It’s such a light powder meaning that I can never feel it on my skin. This also helps keeping my face matte and oil free throughout the day.
As for brows, these always have to stay put! I love the NYX Eyebrow Gel as it keeps the eyebrows set in place once applied and as it dries, it won’t budge from the brow. I always struggle to get it off my brow at the end of the day when cleansing! To make sure my brows are definitely set in place, I use the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper to keep the hairs all pointing in the same direction and making sure no product will escape from them.
If wearing eyeshadow, priming your eyes is a must. I love the Too Faced ‘Shadow Insurance’ eyelid primer as this makes sure the eyeshadow doesn’t crease throughout the day and the eyeshadow stays put!

Hoola Bronzer is one of my absolute favourites for any day, but as it’s a matte bronzer, it doesn't shine with the oils on my skin, making sure it doesn’t move on my face throughout the day. It’s a gorgeous matte bronzer that once applied, does not budge.
For highlighter, I love using the Makeup Revolution ‘Golden Sugar’ Palette and taking a rose gold shade. This gives a stunning pop of highlight but is a product that stays in place when applied.
On my eyes on a busy day I will take my beloved Violet Voss Holy Grail palette and take the shades ‘Transition’ and ‘Hashtag’ I apply these in the crease and blend. Once blended, the eyeshadows look seamless and with the primer underneath, they ain’t going anywhere!
For mascara, a waterproof one is the best if you don’t want it going anywhere. Although I don’t think this is waterproof, it is the hardest mascara to remove ever and thats the Benefit ‘They’re Real.’ This is a struggle to get off with my normal cleanser so is great for a frantic day as it won’t be budging!
On the lips, a liquid lipstick is best as these have such amazing staying power! I love the NYX ‘Lingerie’ Liquid Lipsticks as the colours are stunning and the time that these last on the lips are great.
Finally, what I think is the most important part of a long lasting makeup look, is the setting spray! You want to doubly make sure that these products aren’t going anywhere! I love the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day, Setting Spray.

So these are my go to long lasting products, are any of mine the same as yours? What products do you reach for on a day where you won’t have the time to touch up your makeup? Let me know in the comments below so that I can try them out and see if they replace any of mine!

Lots of Love

Review: Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick

A couple of months ago I managed to get my hands on this foundation. As I live in England, it’s super hard to get brands such as Makeup Forever unless you’re willing to pay a ridiculous amount of money on the shipping. I, however was lucky as some of my friends went to Paris to a Makeup Forever seminar and they had discount on the products. I asked my friend to pick one up for me in the same shade as her and luckily it was the right colour!

Now I have had this product since March, I feel like I have used it enough times to tell you what I think about it.
I use this product pretty much everyday. It has been the only foundation I have worn over the past few months so if I was wearing makeup, that was what I was wearing. And, you don’t need a lot of this. When using this, I apply this directly onto my face, rather than a brush. A couple swipes on my forehead, one on my nose, a couple on each cheek and one on my chin; seems a reasonable amount right? Using this amount of the product is enough to cover my face and still gives me a good amount of coverage. However, I have come to realise recently that I really don’t have much left of this, it will probably last around 2-3 more weeks. Now to me, that doesn’t seem like long. When using other, liquid foundations, they tend to last me a good few months before I have to buy another. However I feel this has run out rather rapidly, even my friends have been shocked as to how little I have left. But is this just because it’s a stick foundation that it’s run out quickly? I’ve never tried any other stick foundations,  but please let me know if you have and that they run out at this speed too!
However, on the upside, I absolutely LOVE this product!

It gives me a great amount of coverage, I would say it’s medium. It gives a nice healthy glow without making my skin look oily. And it (somehow) manages to keep most of the oils on my skin at bay! Which is the best thing as my skin gets so oily during the day and its so hard to keep my makeup looking nice without touching up my makeup (which I never have time to do!)
This foundation blends like a dream on my skin! I have been loving pairing it with the Cover FX skin enhancing drops in ‘moonlight’ too. I apply 3 small drops of them, blend them in to give my skin a healthy glow and then apply the foundation. The foundation sits well over the enhancing drops and still lets the glow of them show throw meaning my skin looks super healthy and gives a gorgeous glow!
As soon as I can get my hands on this foundation again, I most definitely will be!

Have you ever tried this foundation? If so, what were your thoughts on it? And can you recommend any other stick foundations that are easy to get your hands on? Let me know down in the comments!

Go-to Spring Makeup Look (with added Glam)

Over the past month or so I have been wearing the same makeup look day in day out and I thought you might be interested in what products I use to create it so you can recreate it yourself! I have been changing it a bit within what products I use so this is a more glam version of it which includes GLITTER!

Do you like this look I’ve been wearing recently? Do you wear a similar one? And do you use any of these products in your daily makeup routine?

Lots of love

Fresh Start

Welcome back! It’s been quite some time, but I’m back now so lets begin! As you may have noticed, my blog is looking rather different to what it has previously looked like. I was lucky enough that my sister bought me a template for my blog through the company ‘Pipdig’ and my blog is looking better than ever! It has been a long process getting it how I wanted it, however, it’s all ben worth it! The Pipdig support team were an incredible help and I would never have been able to set up my blog without them so I owe a huge thanks! As you can tell my blog is now linked up to my Instagram so you can see my 5 latest posts so you’ll always be able to keep up to date with me! It also has the name I wanted for my blog ‘Tasha May MUA’ I like this, it’s simple and to the point but rhymes so it’s slightly more interesting! The ULR for my blog also matches which is great, however I have bought my own blog name through the company 123 Reg so I need to get that linked up somehow too. If anyone knows how to do this, feel free to tell me in the comments or message me through Instagram, I will be very grateful!

So now I’ve done my part of improving my blog massively and making it look a lot more appealing, but it’s now your turn! I’ve got a couple of blog post ideas in mind but what I want to know is what kind of beauty and makeup posts you like to read. I want this blog to be as much about me as it is about you so let me know down in the comments what posts you want me to be putting up for you all!

I can’t wait to be able to upload posts on a regular and know that you are all enjoying reading them! Commence the typing…

Do you like my new layout? Have you used a ‘Pipdig’ template before? If so what one?

Lots of love
