Naked Heat First Impressions

So I still can’t believe that I have managed to get my hands on this! I am so incredibly lucky that someone sent me the link on twitter to get this when I said I was devastated that I hadn’t managed to get one of time. And of course this is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. I was shocked that it arrived on Friday as I didn’t expect it for a little while but when I saw what the parcel was I nearly cried with happiness.

Friday was the day that I went to a Guns ’n’  Roses gigs (which was incredible) and the day that the palette arrived. Luckily I was only just starting my makeup when I received the palette which meant I could have a play around with it.

This is the look I came up with:

I used ‘Chaser’ and ‘Sauced’ mixed as my transition shade and then took ‘Cayenne’ in the outer crease. On the outer half of the lid I applied ‘He Devil’. For the inner part of the lid I took the shade ‘Scorched’. This is a gorgeous rose gold/red shade which is super glittery and pigmented.

On the lower lash line, I took a mix of ‘Cayenne’ and ‘He Devil’ then on my waterline I used the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Pencil in Bronzed Garnet. This helped smoke up the look more. Then to finish off the eyes, I used Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Mascara.

I am so happy with how the look turned out. This palette has had so much criticism and I really don’t think it deserved it. There really wasn’t much fall out at all, even with the shimmer shades. It has the most perfect mix of warm toned colours and who doesn’t love a warm toned palette!

Officially this palette doesn’t come out till 30th June but if there does happen to be another flash sale or you somehow manage to get your hands on it before then, you won’t regret it. This is going straight into my draw of go-to palettes.

Did you get this palette in the flash sale? If so, do you love it as much as me? What looks have you come up with so far?

Lots of Love

My Go To Long Lasting Products

Hectic, busy, long days are not made for makeup, but you want to wear it. However you could do without having to constantly stop throughout the day to top it up as you don’t have time for that in your busy schedule. It’s a nightmare, I know. But here I am going to share with you my go-to long lasting products for those kinds of days!

Firstly moisturiser. Although most days I moisturise my skin before applying makeup, I find it even more important on these days. I use the Simple Oil Balancing moisturiser as this keeps my oils at bay on my skin so I don’t finish the day looking like a sweaty oily mess!
Next I use The Body Shop’s ‘Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion.’ Again, this helps keep those nasty oils at bay and is a great skincare product as it includes tea tree.
The primer I use is Benefit Porefessional as this helps cover pores, keeps the skin matte and makes sure the makeup lasts as long as it can! This is my holy grail primer and I’ve used and loved it for years!
For Foundation, I like the Too Faced ‘Born this Way’ Foundation as this is a medium coverage foundation. Although the consistency of it can feel a little thick when being applied, once it’s blended out it doesn’t feel like there’s any foundation on the skin. The last thing you want is to feel caked in foundation, and this doesn’t do that!
I use the same concealer for my under eyes and any spots or blemishes and thats the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. I use this for both because I know it lasts really well throughout the day and I have never felt the need to top it up as it looks the same when you leave the house in the morning to when you return early evening.
The powder I rely on day in day out is the NYX HD Finishing Powder in translucent. I use this to bake under my eyes and set my whole face. It’s such a light powder meaning that I can never feel it on my skin. This also helps keeping my face matte and oil free throughout the day.
As for brows, these always have to stay put! I love the NYX Eyebrow Gel as it keeps the eyebrows set in place once applied and as it dries, it won’t budge from the brow. I always struggle to get it off my brow at the end of the day when cleansing! To make sure my brows are definitely set in place, I use the L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper to keep the hairs all pointing in the same direction and making sure no product will escape from them.
If wearing eyeshadow, priming your eyes is a must. I love the Too Faced ‘Shadow Insurance’ eyelid primer as this makes sure the eyeshadow doesn’t crease throughout the day and the eyeshadow stays put!

Hoola Bronzer is one of my absolute favourites for any day, but as it’s a matte bronzer, it doesn't shine with the oils on my skin, making sure it doesn’t move on my face throughout the day. It’s a gorgeous matte bronzer that once applied, does not budge.
For highlighter, I love using the Makeup Revolution ‘Golden Sugar’ Palette and taking a rose gold shade. This gives a stunning pop of highlight but is a product that stays in place when applied.
On my eyes on a busy day I will take my beloved Violet Voss Holy Grail palette and take the shades ‘Transition’ and ‘Hashtag’ I apply these in the crease and blend. Once blended, the eyeshadows look seamless and with the primer underneath, they ain’t going anywhere!
For mascara, a waterproof one is the best if you don’t want it going anywhere. Although I don’t think this is waterproof, it is the hardest mascara to remove ever and thats the Benefit ‘They’re Real.’ This is a struggle to get off with my normal cleanser so is great for a frantic day as it won’t be budging!
On the lips, a liquid lipstick is best as these have such amazing staying power! I love the NYX ‘Lingerie’ Liquid Lipsticks as the colours are stunning and the time that these last on the lips are great.
Finally, what I think is the most important part of a long lasting makeup look, is the setting spray! You want to doubly make sure that these products aren’t going anywhere! I love the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day, Setting Spray.

So these are my go to long lasting products, are any of mine the same as yours? What products do you reach for on a day where you won’t have the time to touch up your makeup? Let me know in the comments below so that I can try them out and see if they replace any of mine!

Lots of Love
